EUREKA Network
Supports EUREKA, the international intergovernmental network coordinating cross-border innovation projects and joint industrial initiatives.
EUREKA is the world's largest intergovernmental network supporting international research, development, and innovation, spanning 47 member countries across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania. It provides companies of all sizes, universities, and research institutes with access to funding through a family of complementary programmes: Eurostars (SME-led collaborative R&D), Innowwide (market feasibility), Network Projects (flexible bilateral and thematic R&D), Eureka Clusters (five industry-led deep-tech communities), Globalstars (R&D with non-EUREKA partner countries), Fast Track to the EIC Accelerator, and Investment Readiness.
Founded in 1985 by 18 countries and the European Commission, EUREKA operates as a decentralised network: the Secretariat coordinates calls and sets international eligibility criteria, but all public funding flows through National Funding Bodies (Bpifrance, Vinnova, FFG, Business Finland, KIAT, Innovate UK, CDTI, NRC IRAP, etc.) under each country's own rules. Several programmes — Eurostars 3, Innowwide, Fast Track, and Investment Readiness — are co-funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe under the European Partnership on Innovative SMEs.
