Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking (EDCTP3)

Scientific Leadership Prize (Woman, SSA)

Awards EUR 15,000 to a woman mid-career scientist based in sub-Saharan Africa for global-health leadership.

Applicants submit a written account of achievements plus a letter of support, scored by an independent expert jury against two 50-point criteria, alongside three other Scientific Leadership Prizes for different profiles. The winner receives EUR 15,000 at an award ceremony during the EDCTP Forum 2027 in Spain.

This prize recognises a female mid-career researcher, permanently resident in a sub-Saharan African country that belongs to the EDCTP Association, who has made significant achievements and continues to lead in her research field. It weighs contributions to strengthening research capacity in sub-Saharan Africa and to South-South and North-South networking within the Global Health EDCTP3 programme.
