Four Coordination and Support Action grants of EUR 13,250,000 each are funded from this topic's EUR 53,000,000 budget through a two-stage call: an open first stage, then a second stage open only to consortia invited forward from the first. The EDCTP Association must already be named as coordinator at the first stage, on top of at least three other independent legal entities from three different coโ€ฆ

This topic wants restructured EDCTP Regional Networks of Excellence and Epidemic Preparedness Consortia across sub-Saharan Africa, addressing at least three of: expertise-building for clinical trials to ICH-GCP standards, training and mentorship for senior researchers, cross-regional partnerships with National Public Health Institutes, and clinical trial or laboratory infrastructure upgrades. It wants networks able to pivot quickly to research an outbreak, building on earlier EDCTP2 investments.
