Unlike the standard Horizon Europe scoring pattern, this topic's second-stage full proposals use a 4/4/3 threshold: Excellence and Impact each need at least 4 out of 5, but Implementation only needs 3, with the three scores combined needing to reach at least 12 out of 15. Contributions from contributing partners feed directly into both the Impact and the Implementation scores, not just into the buโ€ฆ

This topic wants research consortia to run Phase 2a-or-later clinical trials on new combinations of approved or novel antimalarial candidates, targeting children, pregnant women and immune-compromised people in high-transmission sub-Saharan African regions. It excludes prophylactic vaccine and monoclonal antibody development, and expects proposals to also cover long-term effectiveness data, pharmacovigilance, or evidence on drug resistance, with a clear path to regulatory approval and affordable access.
