Proposals need to justify the unmet public health need they address through at least one of three routes: a disease's high burden on patients or society, its high economic impact, or work that cuts across disease areas entirely, such as health-data analytics. Applicants define their own project within this objective, but outcomes must widen the availability of interoperable, FAIR-principle health data and advance analytics or AI that support clinical decisions, shorten time to market, or deliver personalised health interventions with reduced risk of bias.
