Export Support (Atbalsts eksportam)

Supports Latvian small businesses participating in international trade fairs and export missions.

The Latvijas Investīciju un attīstības aģentūra (LIAA) Export Support programme is a continuously open co-financing facility operated through the business.gov.lv portal, designed to help Latvian small and medium-sized enterprises develop and enter international markets. The programme has operated since publication on 7 December 2023 and covers five distinct sub-instruments, all of which remained open for applications as of the May 2026 fetch. LIAA administers the programme and announces specific events and missions through its event calendar, with applications submitted ahead of each individual event or mission.

The five sub-instruments are: national stand participation at international trade fairs under the LIAA country pavilion; group trade missions to priority export markets; participation in high-level state and governmental delegation visits abroad; bespoke export support action plans tailored to individual companies; and co-financing for the organisation of international sports events and exhibitions in Latvia. Award amounts are not published at the programme level and vary per sub-instrument, with support typically structured as de minimis-grade reimbursement of eligible participation costs such as travel, stand fees, freight, and marketing materials. Eligibility is primarily targeted at Latvian-registered SMEs with export ambition, though some sub-instruments extend to mid-cap or larger enterprises.

Applicants should monitor LIAA's event calendar on business.gov.lv to identify specific upcoming trade fairs and missions, then apply ahead of each event through the designated portal. Because all five sub-instruments operate on a rolling basis tied to specific event schedules rather than fixed annual deadlines, the strongest applicants engage early and plan around LIAA's published mission and fair calendar for each target market. The process is conducted in Latvian.

International trade fair participation, trade missions, official visits, export action plans, and co-financing for international events in Latvia for Latvian SMEs seeking export market development.
