PNARDI / NEFZAOUIA — Technology Transfer (Transfert Technologique)
Funds technology-transfer projects in Morocco linking research outputs to practical deployment in local firms.
NEFZAOUIA is the technology transfer track of PNARDI, Morocco's Programme National d'Appui à la Recherche-Développement et à l'Innovation. PNARDI is a multi-partner national program co-financed by MESRSI (Morocco's Ministry of Higher Education), Fondation OCP (the philanthropic arm of Morocco's Office Chérifien des Phosphates), CNRST, and UM6P (Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique). All three 2025 PNARDI sub-programs — IBN BATTOUTA, IBN ALBANNA, and NEFZAOUIA — were launched simultaneously on 3 June 2025, with applications submitted exclusively through the Masharie digital platform at masharie.cnrst.ma. The program is framed within Morocco's Royal Strategic Orientations placing research and innovation at the center of national development.
NEFZAOUIA specifically targets technology transfer projects that bridge Moroccan academic research to industrial or societal applications. An information webinar was held on 24 June 2025 to guide prospective applicants. Award amounts and full eligibility conditions are published in the official call documents on Masharie and were not extracted at intake. Eligible applicants are project teams at Moroccan public universities and recognized research organizations with industrial or societal partners; for-profit companies and individual applicants are not eligible to lead proposals under PNARDI's institutional eligibility framework.
The 2025 edition has closed and the program is between cycles as of mid-2026. A 2026 edition had not launched as of late May 2026. Research teams pursuing technology transfer activities at Moroccan institutions should monitor the Masharie platform (masharie.cnrst.ma) and CNRST announcements for the 2026 NEFZAOUIA call. The involvement of OCP Foundation and UM6P as co-funders — both with strong industrial and applied-science mandates — signals that proposals demonstrating clear commercial, industrial, or societal uptake potential will be well-positioned for selection.
