CNRST administers Morocco's national competitive research grants, doctoral scholarships, bilateral collaboration programs, and diaspora scientist initiatives. It operates under MESRSI (Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur, de la Recherche Scientifique et de l'Innovation). Its programs span from early-career researcher awards (IBN BATTOUTA) to multilateral PhD mobility schemes (PHC Toubkal, PHC Maghreb) and the flagship PNARDI national R&D framework co-funded with Fondation OCP and UM6P.

Note: CNRST Morocco is distinct from the French CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique). The acronym overlap is a known source of confusion; cooperation agreements with CNRS-France and CNR-Italy exist but are bilateral partnerships, not institutional mergers.
