The Electric Car Grant reduces the purchase price of eligible new zero-emission cars. It aims to encourage more drivers to purchase EVs and make low-cost, sustainably manufactured EVs more widely available.
Drivers do not apply for the grant. The seller includes the grant as a discount in the purchase price of an eligible vehicle.

The grant supports some new zero-emission cars. A vehicle must be an M1 passenger vehicle, produce 0gCO2/km at the tailpipe, have a minimum battery range of 100 miles (160km), have the stated vehicle and battery warranties, and meet minimum sustainability criteria. It only applies to vehicles priced at or below £37,000.
