Intelligent Generator of Research (IGoR)
Funds teams building an AI-orchestrated ecosystem to speed up biomedical research.
ARPA-H frames this as a single continuous ecosystem-building effort rather than a set of separate research grants. A solution summary comes first and is required before ARPA-H will even accept a full proposal; after reviewing it, ARPA-H either encourages or discourages the proposer from going further, and only those encouraged are meant to submit the fuller document. Because of the volume of interโฆ
IGoR wants teams to build a nimble, interoperable research ecosystem that generates and validates biological knowledge at least ten times faster than traditional methods. Performers must develop four linked pieces: mechanistic disease models, an AI system that spots knowledge gaps and designs experiments, a standardized protocol architecture, and a marketplace of qualified labs that execute those protocols and return gold-standard data. Teams need expertise spanning computational biology, AI/ML orchestration, laboratory automation, protocol standardization, distributed systems and interface design.
