NIAMS Clinical Trial Implementation Cooperative Agreement

Funds a two-phase cooperative agreement to prepare for, then run, a clinical trial in arthritis, musculoskeletal or skin disease.

Plenty of trials are designed and never get past the practical work of actually starting one — sites signed, boards cleared, staff hired. NIAMS funds that step explicitly, then funds running the trial itself, as one award.

The mechanism supports investigator-initiated, single- or multi-site interventional clinical trials, at any phase, inside NIAMS's mission: arthritis and rheumatic disease, musc

Cooperative agreement support for investigator-initiated, single- or multi-site interventional clinical trials, all phases, within the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases' mission — for investigators who have already completed trial design, protocol synopsis and data analysis plan through other means. Structured in two phases: preparing the single IRB, site contracts and staffing, then running the trial, with transition to phase two dependent on meeting phase one's milestones. A clinical trial is required.
