Regionalprogramme
Provides energy efficiency and climate consulting support for Austrian businesses and municipalities through state operators.
Regionalprogramme 2026 is a co-funded grant program of the Klima- und Energiefonds and all nine Austrian federal states (Bundesländer), channeling €2.4 million through nine state-level operator programs to support energy efficiency, environmental management, and climate consulting for Austrian businesses and municipalities. The call window is the full 2026 calendar year (January 1 through December 31, 2026). Applications are not submitted to Klimafonds directly — each Bundesland operates its own partner program, and applicants apply through their relevant state operator.
The nine state-level programs are: ökofit (Kärnten), Ökomanagement NÖ (Niederösterreich), Betriebliche Umweltförderung (Oberösterreich), umwelt service salzburg (Salzburg), Wirtschaftsinitiative Nachhaltige Steiermark / WIN (Steiermark), ecotirol (Tirol), Impuls3 (Vorarlberg), OekoBusiness Wien (Wien), and UmweltFit Burgenland (Burgenland). Eligible applicants are businesses and municipalities operating in Austria; research organizations are not a target audience for this program. Universities and standalone research institutes are also outside the target group.
Applicants should identify their Bundesland operator and contact that organization directly, as each state program sets its own application procedures, timelines within the 2026 window, and eligible consulting activities. Klimafonds is the national co-funder and umbrella coordinator but does not process individual applications. Program contact at Klimafonds national level is Christina Mittermeier (christina.mittermeier@klimafonds.gv.at). The program is particularly relevant for Austrian SMEs and municipalities seeking structured environmental management consulting, energy audits, or climate-transition advisory services subsidized through their state's program.
