SSbD bio-based solutions to replace hazardous conventional chemicals for textiles production
Funds demonstration of safe-and-sustainable bio-based chemicals or processes that replace hazardous coatings, dyes and solvents used in making textiles.
This single-stage Horizon Europe Innovation Action, run under the CBE JU's 2025 work programme, expects to fund two grants of EUR 7,000,000 each. Award criteria, scoring and thresholds sit in the Work Programme's General Annex D, and the submission and evaluation process and grant-agreement timeline sit in Annex F, common to every topic in this Work Programme. As part of its Multi-Actor Approach, …
The call wants bio-based chemical or process alternatives to hazardous substances like PFAS coatings, heavy-metal dyes and fossil-based coated-fabric polymers, applicable to both bio-based and fossil-based textile production. Proposals must test the alternative on real end-products such as garments, technical textiles or footwear against human-health and environmental benchmarks.
