Funds research into onboard components for a liquid hydrogen supply system for fuel cell aircraft, run in tandem with a matching Clean Aviation project.
The selected project has to build directly on earlier Clean Hydrogen JU work -- named projects ELVHYS, HEAVEN, BRAVA and COCOLIH2T -- and draw on findings from four Clean Aviation JU projects researching liquid hydrogen and fuel cell propulsion. This call funds specific hardware — piping, valves, sensors, control units — that feeds cryogenically stored hydrogen from an aircraft's tank to its fuel cells, aimed at high-power aviation use. It does not cover the overall system architecture or the pump and heat exchanger design: those are funded separately under the Clean Aviation JU's own topic HORIZON-JU-CLEAN-AVIATION-2026-04-HPA-02, and the two projects are required to run in parallel and share results.
