This call funds demonstration of in-line inspection tools that monitor cracks and confirm compatibility with hydrogen in new and repurposed offshore natural gas pipelines. Proposals should address the harder maintenance access, higher operating pressure and larger diameter of offshore pipelines compared with onshore infrastructure, where fatigue and cracking pose a bigger risk to the pipeline's business case.
