NIH Research Evaluation and Commercialization Hubs (REACH)
Funds five university-based hubs that turn NIH-backed biomedical discoveries into products.
Each hub gets early-stage funding plus expert help in areas like regulation, reimbursement, business and law, and runs entrepreneurship training so researchers can carry a discovery from feasibility studies and prototypes to a real product. This is a Limited Competition: only a university or research institution that has already formally partnered with a small business on an NIH STTR award can app…
NIH plans to fund five new academic entrepreneurship hubs that identify the most promising biomedical discoveries coming out of university and research-institution labs and push them toward commercialization. The focus is specifically on high-priority technologies that match NIH's own research mission, not biomedical research in general.
