FHF — Fiskeri- og havbruksnæringens forskningsfinansiering is a Norwegian state-owned company financed entirely by a mandatory 0.3% levy on seafood exports. Its mandate is to generate added value for the Norwegian seafood industry through industry-based research and development. This call, the highest-value open call in the 2026 FHF snapshot at 20 million NOK, targets research-based documentation and dissemination of experience gained from full-scale pilot production runs in aquaculture (Norwegian: forskningsbasert dokumentasjon og formidling av erfaring fra fullskala pilotproduksjoner). Eligible applicants include for-profit companies, non-profits, universities, and research organisations registered and operating in Norway; individual applicants are excluded. International teams may participate only through a Norwegian lead organisation, as the FHF portal requires Norwegian ID-porten authentication. Proposals were submitted via competitive public call with a deadline of 29 May 2026, placing this grant in a closed or recently closed status. The call sits within FHF's aquaculture new-technology program area, which draws on a broader 2026 aquaculture budget exceeding 400 million NOK across fish health, production biology, environmental sustainability, and lice control. Successful applicants are expected to produce research outputs that can be directly transferred to industry practice, consistent with FHF's implementation-oriented funding philosophy.

Funds research-based documentation and knowledge-dissemination of findings from full-scale pilot production runs in Norwegian aquaculture.
