TTGV Climate Pioneer — Early-Stage Support

Supports Turkish climate innovators through TTGV with early guidance, prototyping, and commercialization planning before large-scale pilots.

TTGV's Climate Pioneer Early-Stage Program targets researchers and research-based initiatives working on climate technologies at TRL 1 through 4. The program is administered by TTGV — the Technology Development Foundation of Türkiye, a public-private foundation established in 1991 that has managed over USD 0.5 billion in public funds since inception. As of 2023, TTGV refocused its mandate on climate technologies as its primary strategic priority, aligned with the Paris Agreement, the EU Green Deal, and Türkiye's 2053 net-zero target. The Early-Stage program addresses the so-called valley of death for pre-commercial climate research by offering Technology Valorization Board review, technology roadmapping, and early prototype development assistance on a rolling year-round intake basis.

Unlike TTGV's mid-stage or demo programs, the Early-Stage track provides no cash disbursement — the instrument is advisory and in-kind support only. Eligible applicants are researchers and research-based initiatives; for-profit companies are not listed as primary targets on the published page. There are no published financial award amounts, no stated match-funding requirements, and no fixed application windows — intake is open year-round. The program explicitly covers any climate-tech sub-sector relevant to Türkiye, spanning energy, materials, agri-food, and climate adaptation, provided the work is at TRL 1–4. Inquiries and applications are directed to onculproje@ttgv.org.tr.

For applicants, the program's value is in structured pre-commercial support rather than financing. TTGV's Valorization Board can provide credibility and a development roadmap that positions early-stage climate initiatives for subsequent funding — including TTGV's own mid-stage repayable contribution track (TRL 5–7) and the Climate Vanguard VC Fund for demonstration-scale projects. Because no cash is awarded, this program is most relevant to academic researchers and non-commercial research entities in Türkiye seeking structured commercialization guidance for nascent climate technologies.

Climate technologies at TRL 1–4. Includes research-based initiatives in any climate-tech sub-sector relevant to Türkiye's 2053 net-zero target.
