2026 Clinical Lectureships in Dentistry

Trains dentists as independent researchers through a part-time postdoctoral post.

NIHR runs this Clinical Lectureship through the Integrated Academic Training Programme, in partnership with individual dental schools, rather than as a direct NIHR award. Recruitment happens in two separate tracks: a main national round that includes clinical benchmarking, and a later 're-advert' round, open only to posts that weren't filled through clinical benchmarking at the main round. Candida

The award is for dentists moving into academic research careers, through the Integrated Academic Training (IAT) Programme, wanting a combined clinical and academic training environment to establish themselves as independent researchers and leaders.
