Air Quality in Indoor Public Spaces, Workplace Settings and Transport Microenvironments
Funds UK research on health impacts of indoor and transport air-quality interventions.
Two committees make the real decisions here in sequence: the Prioritisation Committee reads the outline application purely for public health need, value and importance, and can decline an application at that stage before it ever reaches technical review. If it clears that gate, the Funding Committee then wants to see exactly what stage the intervention has reached — feasibility, pilot or definitiv…
The Public Health Research Programme wants studies evaluating the health and health-inequality impacts of interventions affecting air quality in indoor public spaces, workplaces and transport microenvironments (like train carriages, underground networks and buses). Interventions of interest span building/ventilation changes, spatial planning, and policy, communication or behaviour-change approaches, with a primary outcome that must be health-related.
