PHR researcher-led
Funds UK studies evaluating real-world, non-NHS interventions on public health and inequality.
The outline stage is capped at five A4 pages for the whole research plan, and reviewers will not consider anything submitted beyond that limit. Alongside the plan, applicants upload a one-page flow diagram showing the study design and how participants move through it, a one-page logic model setting out the intervention's theory of change, and a page of references; letters of support aren't accepte…
The Public Health Research Programme is open to any topic within its remit: studies that measure how non-clinical, everyday-world interventions change public health outcomes and the gaps between different groups across Britain. Proposals should target the wider determinants of health, show potential for population-level impact, and address health inequalities and vulnerable groups. Continued areas of interest -- workforce health, healthy homes and suicide prevention -- and current highlight notices on work-and-health and brain tumours are welcomed but not required.
