This call funds Regional Cable Hubs — one per EU sea basin — that pool data and threat information between national authorities (such as CSIRTs) to protect undersea communication cables. Hubs may use sea-based sensors, satellite imagery and undersea drones, and can progressively integrate defence capabilities such as navy surveillance systems.
