Faculty For Factory Program — Call 19

Supports faculty-industry collaboration in Egypt through STDF Faculty for Factory placement and joint projects.

Call 19 of the Faculty for Factory (FFF / 3F) program is an applied R&D grant administered by Egypt's Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF), the primary national body responsible for funding scientific research and innovation in Egypt. The FFF program embeds Egyptian university faculty members directly in industrial facilities — factories, manufacturing plants, and production operations — to co-develop applied research solutions that address real production and competitiveness challenges faced by Egyptian industry. The partnership model requires a formal consortium between at least one Egyptian university faculty member and at least one industrial facility as co-investigators.

Call 19 is open for submissions until 30 June 2026 via the STDF portal at stdf.eg/projects/apply/to/call/470. Award amounts, budget ceilings, and scoring criteria for Call 19 are published in the call documentation available on the STDF portal; these details were not captured in the research snapshot and must be verified directly before applying. Eligible applicants are Egyptian universities serving as lead institutions, with Egyptian industrial companies as required consortium partners. The FFF program targets applied research in manufacturing, production processes, energy, and agritech — sectors where factory-floor implementation of research findings is feasible within the project term. STDF processes applications through a single national portal; no dual-submission to an international partner platform is required for FFF (unlike STDF's BRICS-framework calls).
