Spain's EUR 355 million renewable manufacturing grant program, administered by IDAE (Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía), supported domestic production of photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, electrolyzers, and heat pumps under the final phase of the PRTR (Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia). The application window ran from 22 January to 25 February 2026, a five-week competitive period aligned with Spain's obligation to deploy PRTR funds before the August 2026 deadline. The program was restricted to for-profit manufacturing companies; non-profits, universities, and research organizations were not eligible.
Applicants were required to be registered and operating in Spain and engaged in the manufacturing of the listed renewable energy equipment categories. The four targeted product families — PV modules, wind turbines, electrolyzers for green hydrogen production, and heat pumps — align with Spain's industrial policy priorities for scaling domestic clean energy supply chains. Per-project award caps and subsidy rates were defined in the formal IDAE call documentation published in January 2026.
The call is now closed and proposals are under IDAE evaluation ahead of the August 2026 PRTR expenditure deadline. A EUR 750 million successor program for renewable equipment manufacturing has been announced, representing the next major cycle for this industrial policy area. Spanish manufacturers in the PV, wind, electrolyzer, or heat pump sectors that missed the current window should monitor idae.es for the successor call publication, which is expected to carry a materially larger envelope than the EUR 355 million 2026 round.
