This call funds development of improved components and integrated monitoring tools that raise the safety of low-temperature water electrolysers, addressing risks from hydrogen and oxygen mixing during start-up, shutdown and dynamic load changes. Proposals should cover conventional and emerging electrolyser architectures, validating stacks for at least 1,000 hours under diverse operating regimes against harmonised EU safety protocols.
