Transformative Innovations in Global Health
Funds beyond-proof-of-concept innovations that make infectious-disease prevention, treatment or diagnostics cheaper, more accessible or better suited to sub-Saharan Africa.
This programme runs a two-stage evaluation rather than the more common Horizon Europe default of leaving scoring to the general annexes: stage 2 full applications are scored out of 5 on each of three criteria, Excellence, Impact, and Quality and Efficiency of the Implementation, with individual thresholds of 4, 4 and 3 and a combined threshold of 12 out of 15 before a proposal is considered for fuโฆ
This topic wants research beyond proof-of-concept on disruptive innovations for infectious diseases within Global Health EDCTP3's scope, including HIV/AIDS โ new or repurposed medicines, delivery systems, age-appropriate formulations, or tools that lower cost or improve accessibility in sub-Saharan Africa. Chronic and non-communicable diseases, and infectious diseases outside EDCTP3's scope, are explicitly excluded.
