Sustainable Shipbuilding Subsidy (SDS)
Pays Dutch shipyards to test emission- and noise-cutting innovations on a new or rebuilt vessel.
This runs as a tender: after the application window closes, an external advisory committee scores every project against four criteria, innovation, sustainability, economic outlook and quality of the application, and adds up the points to rank every submission. RVO then funds the highest-ranked project first, then the next, continuing down the ranked list until the whole EUR 2,360,000 budget is all…
SDS is for shipyards building or rebuilding an inland or seagoing ship over 100 gross tonnes, or a tug or ferry with more than 365 kW power. It funds testing innovations that cut CO2 or other emissions, or reduce underwater noise; fishing vessels don't qualify.
