PNCDI IV Program 5.7 — Partnership for Innovation (Parteneriat pentru Inovare)

Supports Romanian organisations through PNCDI by connecting enterprises and institutions for innovation partnerships.

UEFISCDI Program 5.7 is a multi-instrument funding line administered by Romania's Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding, designed to strengthen industry–academia collaboration. The programme encompasses several distinct instruments targeting different stages of the knowledge-transfer cycle: experimental demonstration projects (PED), knowledge-transfer projects (PTE), innovation vouchers enabling companies to procure research services, and a continuous-submission procurement competition allowing enterprises to commission R&D from accredited research organisations. The continuous-submission R&D procurement competition launched on 8 January 2026 through the uefiscdi-direct.ro platform.

The other instruments within Program 5.7 — PED experimental demonstration projects, PTE knowledge-transfer projects, and innovation vouchers — become active upon the announcement of individual competitions by UEFISCDI. Each instrument has its own eligibility criteria, award ranges, and application procedures, which are specified in the call documentation published on the UEFISCDI website. The programme is broadly targeted at Romanian enterprises and research organisations, with a particular emphasis on applied research that can demonstrably move toward commercial application.

Organisations interested in Program 5.7 should monitor UEFISCDI's official portal and uefiscdi-direct.ro for the activation of individual instrument competitions. The continuous procurement track is the currently active entry point, while the project-based instruments require waiting for specific competition launches.

Industry-academia R&D collaboration in Romania, covering procurement of research services by enterprises, experimental demonstration projects, knowledge transfer, innovation vouchers, and spin-off development support.
