Funds Brussels companies developing their first technologically innovative prototype or service, covering 50 to 70 percent of the budget for technical and economic validation.

Proof of Business is a grant from Innoviris, the Brussels-Capital Region's public innovation agency, targeting Brussels companies that want to develop their first technologically innovative prototype or service. The program covers 50% to 70% of the project budget, regardless of the industry the company works in.

To be eligible, the company must develop all or part of its business activities in the Brussels-Capital Region. The project must be designed to develop a first technologically innovative prototype or service with a favourable impact on the economy, employment, or sustainable development of the Brussels-Capital Region. The company must demonstrate that the funding has a stimulating effect on its work programme, show ability to finance its own share of project expenses, and have fulfilled obligations under any previous regional grants.

The evaluation considers: level of innovation and project objectives, feasibility and implementation of the project, strategic and economic impact, and valorization. A meeting between Innoviris and the project leaders is organised as part of the analysis.

Note: Innoviris announced on 24 March 2026 that no new projects can be funded in 2026 due to budget constraints. All programs are suspended; existing projects continue under signed agreements. Applications submitted before the suspension remain in process and may be funded in 2027 pending available resources.
