Global collaboration action on climate and health in sub-Saharan Africa
Funds clinical trials or large-scale implementation research on climate-sensitive water- and vector-borne disease control in sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.
Contributing partners are central to how this call is scored, not just a nice-to-have: an outside country, international organisation or other public or private entity can commit financial or in-kind support alongside the JU's own money, and if that support is in-kind the partner becomes a full consortium member. This call wants a Phase IIb/III or post-authorisation trial of a preventive or therapeutic medicine or vaccine, or large-scale implementation research on a validated device or vector-control intervention, against climate-sensitive water- or vector-borne pathogens. Proposals must also fold in a One Health angle, engage primary care and community health workers, and prioritise underserved groups such as children, pregnant women and displaced populations.
